Inspirational Talk 2025 with Mary Kalantzis & Bill Cope
As part of its international outreach strategy and with the aim of strengthening its connection with the global research community, the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program “Analysis and Teaching of First and Second/Foreign Language”—offered jointly by the Department of Mediterranean Studies: Archaeology, Linguistics, International Relations and the Department of Primary Education of the University of the Aegean—launches a new annual event titled “Inspirational Talk” featuring renowned scholars from international universities and research institutions.
This initiative aims to create a vibrant forum for the exchange of ideas and scholarly dialogue, open both to the academic community and the general public.
The inaugural Inspirational Talk will be delivered by Mary Kalantzis and Bill Cope, two of the most influential figures in global educational research. With distinguished academic careers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a prolific body of scholarly work, the Kalantzis–Cope duo is internationally known for pioneering approaches in learning, multiliteracies, and the integration of technology in education.
Their timely talk is titled:
“Literacy in the Time of Artificial Intelligence.”
